1946, Movie, NR, 87 mins

Boyer narrates a patriotic drama about French railway workers who sabotaged the movement of freight and passenger trains in France during its WW II occupation by the Nazis. Most of the actors reenact the roles they played in real life in the French railway system. Clement's direction is so realistic it gives the impression that we are watching startling newsreel footage. It is easy to see this historic film inspired most of the plot for John Frankenheimer's THE TRAIN. leave a comment
