THE BAT WHISPERS was apparently the first movie to use the now-hoary device of appealing to the audience at the end of film to keep mum about the ending. Morris unravels the mystery of The Bat's identity (it's based on the play by Mary Roberts Rinehart and Avery Hopwood).
