Massey is the villain of the piece. He portrays a mean gold mine owner who uses criminals on the run to dig for ore. Clark and Roman are both fugitives and arrive at this chain ganglike compound. Robert Douglas is a lawyer whose brother used to own the mine and whom Massey eliminates in
order to secure it. Don't think too hard on how this one winds up. Massey, who made a living for years playing trustworthy humanitarians, is a good enough actor to make us believe that he's a rat. Clark does his customary fine job and Roman is darkly attractive in a passable film that's not worth
late-night watching. (Loose remake of THE SEA WOLF.)
