Beery plays the scrappy owner of a small fishing boat who, through the influence of his girl friend Main and daughter Weidler, gets wrapped up with big-time fish-contractor MacLane. With a loan from Main, Beery buys a large schooner to be used as a refrigeration vessel for MacLane's operation. Beery is not happy with his work and dreams of sneaking off to the South Seas in his new boat.
