Corrupt politics scenarios have been done to death, especially those involving lucrative land/construction deals, but the really bad news for this erotic thriller is that stars Daniel Baldwin and Angie Everhart don't sizzle between the sheets. Professional escort Julie Spencer (Catalina Larranaga) meets with foul play after leaving a home video with her roommate, former call girl Carly Marsh (Everhart). Fond of taping her lovemaking sessions, Julie had no idea that her latest client was professional hit man Gav Reed (Mark Silvertsen). Julie's video camera kept rolling and captured a post-coital meeting between Reed and power broker Ian Hunter (Evan MacKenzie). The tape reveals that Hunter recently paid Reed to stage a botched assassination attempt against newly elected Mayor Washington (Angela Sargeant). By taking a bullet meant for Washington, Hunter's crony, City Council President Frank Constantine (Don Short), gained public visibility as a wounded hero. This positions him to step up to bat when Hunter makes a subsequent successful attempt on the Mayor's life. Unfortunately, Detective Killian (Daniel Baldwin), who was guarding Mayor Washington, views the assassination attempt as a blot on his record and is determined to make sure there is no second attempt. Killian badgers Carly for clues and doggedly pieces together the City Hall conspiracy. In his spare time, he falls for Carly. Meanwhile, Hunter orders his personal hit woman, Marina (Lauren Reina), to find the incriminating tape and eliminate Reed. Carly electrocutes an intruder Hunter sends to her home, but Marina kills Julie's slimy boss, Slim (Joe Costanza), after getting close to him by posing as a lap-dancer/hooker. Killian eventually learns that former-mayor Garland (Michael Canavan), another of Hunter's cohorts, is desperate to ram through a pet real estate project that's being impeded by the squeaky clean Washington. Can Killian and Carly unravel the Garland-Hunter alliance without paying with their lives? Predictable fare. leave a comment --Robert Pardi
