Gentleman Gene Autry is a cattle buyer who finds out that a battle between cattle ranchers and homesteaders is threatening to cut off his supply of heifers. The homesteaders aren't allowing cattle herds to cross their land, and the steers have been rerouted hundreds of miles out of the way.
