Said to be Walt Disney's personal favorite of all his films, Bambi is a brilliantly animated, heart-tugging parable about the cycles of life as reflected in the story of the growth of a young deer. The bittersweet fable is actually geared toward older kids and even adults, and deals with such traumatic subjects as the loss of childhood innocence and the death of a parent; the heartwrenching scene where Bambi's mother is killed has inspired countless nightmares among those who saw it at a very early age.
