Balboa

Filmed in 1982, BALBOA was originally conceived as a possible series for cable television that would take the machinations of network shows such as "Dallas" and "Dynasty" a step further by including foul language and nudity. There were no takers in Cable Land, so the producers pared the film down to feature length. Curtis is an unscrupulous wheeler-dealer in the chic Balboa district of California. He attempts to build a legalized gambling empire on nearby Goat Island. Out to get Curtis, however, are Campbell, the granddaughter of a man Curtis ruined financially, and Peterson, Curtis' ex-wife.
