This turgid potboiler features the three worst sisters since Macbeth stumbled on the witches in the woods. When their father is killed in a plane crash, Hughes immediately starts in on English and Shane so that she can inherit the estate for herself. First she disfigures English, who ends up killing herself after seeing her new looks. Then Hughes engages Bromfield, the pilot of the plane her father died in, to help destroy sister number two.
