John Holbrook Vance's psychological thriller was softened for television (the film was made for ABC) but retained a genuinely creepy atmosphere. High school misfit Ronald Wilby (Scott Jacoby) lives with his adoring mother (Kim Hunter) but is otherwise friendless.
