Sluggish adaptation of Sinclair Lewis' classic novel (first filmed as a silent in 1924) with a standout performance by Kibbee as the title character. Story of life in a small Midwestern town not helped by lackadaisical direction and an overlong opening sequence that follows Kibbee around the house to establish atmosphere. leave a comment
