Holt, an outdoorsy, tough construction foreman, becomes fed up with his violin-playing sissy son and decides to turn the boy into a real man. Holt takes Butler's precious fiddle away and forces the kid to develop callouses while sweet Rice and trampy Burke vie for Holt's affections.
