This could have been truly wretched. The title doesn't promise much except for the almost-certain chance to ogle ample flesh. ASSAULT OF THE KILLER BIMBOS manages to surprise, however, thanks to a certain loopy charm and the sensibility of director Rosenberg. The film opens in a sleazy nightclub, where Whitaker and Kaitan are a pair of go-go dancers. Framed for the murder of their boss, they head for Mexico. Along the way, they take a fed-up waitress, Souza, hostage. Souza later decides to join up with the fugitives, and the three set out to bring the real killer to justice. The performances of the three principals are surprisingly good, with Whitaker a standout as the leader of the trio. Kaitan is less effective, but she is likable, as is Souza. No one else manages to rise much above the level of a racy comic book, but that's really the point, isn't it? leave a comment
