Tough reporter Colbert, stationed in France, becomes sick and tired of writing about fashion and decides to do a hard-hitting war story. She travels to Spain to investigate the whereabouts of noted rebel Milland and ends up freeing him from Zucco's jail by posing as his wife. They steal a plane and escape to France, where their exploits become page one news.
