Hotshot rodeo star Hob Danvers (Gig Young) takes up with rodeo groupie Sylvia (Barbara Lawrence) when his loving wife, Ruth (Polly Bergen), leaves him, unable to stand his selfish irresponsibility. At a big rodeo in Tucson (the footage is from the Fiesta de Los Vaqueros), Hob's life is saved by his former partner (Henry Morgan), a onetime top cowboy reduced to the status of rodeo clown, who rushes in front of a rampaging Brahma bull before it can get to Hob and is fatally injured in the act. After witnessing his pard's sad end, Hob decides to hang up his spurs and reconcile with Ruth. This melodramatic reworking of Nicholas Ray's THE LUSTY MEN (1952) was originally released in 3-D. leave a comment
