City boy Boone moves to a Kentucky town, bringing with him nothing more than his minor theft record. Once there, Boone falls for homespun Jones and a certain horse on one of the racing farms as well. Getting over his initial dislike of country living, Boone wins the heart of Jones and quite a few horse races as a sulky driver, too. This remake of HOME IN INDIANA, essentially a showcase for the talents of the squeaky-clean Boone, is a pleasant enough teen romance in which the often-neglected charm and vocal capabilities of Miss Jones get some good exposure. Nominated for an Academy Award: Best Song ("April Love" by Sammy Fain and Paul Francis Webster. leave a comment
