Antarctica

This interesting dog story, narrated in English, concerns a team of sled dogs left chained to posts at an antarctic research station by a Japanese team that expects to be replaced immediately. Bad weather delays the relief team, and the dogs are left to their own resources for survival. Eight of the 15 manage to slip their collars. The rest die where they're chained. The freed dogs search for food, attacking a walrus, catching fish through the ice, and one by one meet a variety of adversities.
