ANNIE HALL
starstarstarstar
Well, la-de-dah, la-de-dah. Had Woody Allen gone with his original idea for this 1977 Best Picture winner, we would have gotten "Manhattan Murder Mystery" rather than one of the key comedies of the era: Allen originally conceived this bittersweet romance as a crime caper. Instead we get Allen as Alvy Singer, a neurotic, death obsessed New Yawkah who falls in love with his polar opposite: a flighty WASP named Annie Hall (the sparkling Diane Keaton). Keep your eyes peeled for Christopher Walken, Jeff Goldblum and Sigourney Weaver. Read the complete review for Annie Hall
