Overwrought independent woman tale featuring Wray (fresh from her battle with KING KONG) as a female super-lawyer. She handles civil, corporate, and criminal law equally well. She intimidates experienced judges with her impressive knowledge of legalese. Her poor husband, a fumbling architect, feels completely impotent compared to his wife. He quits his nowhere job and becomes a nightclub singer. At his newfound place of employment, he gets involved with a shady lady who drinks herself to death, and he is accused of her murder. Guess who defends the poor sot. That's right, his wife the super-lawyer! The final, melodramatic summation of the case to the jury by Wray got unintentional laughs in 1933. leave a comment
