Animal Farm

A cartoon adaptation of George Orwell's classic dystopia, notable as the first feature-length animated British production. The story concerns a barnyard rebellion led by a pig, Napoleon, who perverts the revolutionary cause and takes on all the evil characteristics of the overthrown regime. The animation is satisfactory, and the film has several powerful moments, but the allegorical nature of Orwell's satirical fable is better served in print.
