Moody industry drama has Attenborough (who headed this production company) selected by insidious union organizer Burke to lead the revolt in his factory. In a confused, groping performance, Attenborough attempts to organize fellow workers, bringing about a wildcat strike and misery to his colaborers for which he is vilified, then beaten up and ostracized while his wife, Angeli, and family suffer. Attenborough's intense performance does not clarify this film's murky motivation. It's hard to tell from the script and direction if Attenborough is trying to indict unions or capitalism.
