The first film produced by and starring John Wayne, ANGEL AND THE BADMAN is the story of an outlaw trying to change his life. Wayne, wounded, collapses on the doorstep of a Quaker family. While they nurse him back to health, he begins to fall in love with the daughter, Russell. Gradually the gunslinger begins to realize that his outlaw days are numbered and he begins to change his ways, even though he is obsessed with killing Cabot, the murderer of his foster-father.
