Set at the turn of the century, AMY stars Jenny Agutter as a woman who leaves her rich husband to teach at a special school for the deaf and blind. Once she arrives at the school, she meets and befriends Dr. Ben Corcoran (Barry Newman), and the two set out to teach the children how to
play football. Though the script doesn't realistically depict the sexism of the era, which would have made Agutter's career more difficult, AMY is admirable and a good bet for children.
