You can tell by the title that this is a sequel, but that's where the similarity ends. This one is superior in almost every respect to the first, with slam-bang action, many humorous moments, and an excellent performance by Steve James. Joe Armstrong (Michael Dudikoff) and Curtis Jackson (James) are US Army Rangers who have been assigned to investigate the disappearance of American soldiers stationed on a small British-controlled island in the Caribbean. Discovering who is behind the disappearances seems to lead to one fight after another with respites only for some very funny moments. Martial arts fans will love the well-staged fights, but, as in so many of these movies, when the producers find a lead who is adept at kicks and such, he usually falls short in the emoting department. Such is the case with Dudikoff, but not so with James, who demonstrates that he can handle dialog as well as he can toss a nunchuck. leave a comment
