The daughter of the American ambassador to France comes to the aid of American soldiers when grumpy senator Menjou thinks about closing off Paris to the good-time-loving servicemen. Mistaking the daughter for a Dior model, sergeant Forsythe falls for the lovely de Havilland, unaware of her
position. De Havilland, pushing 40, is amazingly attractive and easily carries off what would have been thought of as a younger actress' role, but her distinct charm still can't save the hopelessly lightweight material. Menjou and Loy, in almost thankless roles, nearly steal the film in a pair of
delightfully witty performances.
