ALSINO AND THE CONDOR presents a devastating view of Nicaragua torn to pieces by war, its people suffering from poverty and starvation, through the eyes of a wonderful young actor, Alan Esquivel. His only desire is to escape the havoc and misery that surround him, which he daydreams about by imagining himself an exotic bird high above the jungles and rotting cities. He gets his first real chance to fly when friendly American pilot Frank (Dean Stockwell) takes the youngster up in his aircraft, which is painted with the symbol of a condor.
