A jazz group reworking of Shakespeare's "Othello," with drummer McGoohan (in the Iago role) trying to destroy the marriage of band leader Harris and his wife, Stevens, in hopes of becoming the band leader himself. An admirable attempt to give the typical jazz picture a dramatic structure. The most memorable parts of the film are undoubtedly the brief appearances by greats Dave Brubeck and Charles Mingus. leave a comment
