Screenwriter Charles Kephart's portrait-of-the-artist-as-a-young-virgin was probably a therapeutic experience for him, but viewers will probably be less charmed by its parade of dated sex fantasies. Shy Jones Dillon (Elijah Wood) leaves home for college, taking with him two prized possessions a steamer trunk and a typewriter that allegedly belonged to his father.
