Alice, Or The Last Escapade

Haunting nightmarelike tale of a pretty young wife who leaves her overbearing husband, drives off, and stops at an old house when her windshield cracks. She spends the night in the house after being tended to by an old man who seems to expect her, and she prepares to drive off in a newly fixed car. Finding no way out, she is told to "accept" her situation by a young man and realizes that she is in limbo. After she walks down a dark cellar, the woman's body is seen hanging out of her demolished car. She has finally met Death.
