An ancestor of director Wenders's 1984 film PARIS, TEXAS, this low-budget West German picture follows Vogler, a German journalist traveling across the US East Coast in search of a story. He considers Polaroid snapshots a better way to capture America's landscapes, buildings, and signs than writing about them.
