Alibi

Mystery buffs who grouse that there's nothing new under their sun will be pleasantly surprised by this offbeat tale of an inadvertent murderer and his accidental alibi. Henpecked Greg Brentwood (Michael Kitchen) splurges on a lavishly catered, 25th-anniversary party for his wife, Linda (Phyllis Logan), at their heavily mortgaged English country home. Linda bites her tongue about his reckless spending, but after the staff and guests have left she takes off in a huff. Only Greg's business partner, Martin Shaps (Tom Knight), stays behind and after he and Greg get into an alcohol-fueled tiff, Martin stumbles, hits his head and expires.
