Insignificant crime drama, played for laughs, about the notorious, good-willed safe-cracker. Notable only for the fact that this was the first MGM talkie made in commercial desperation to counter the flood of Warner Bros. talking releases. Even MGM big shots Mayer, Schenck, and Thalberg
reluctantly agreed to make this film, thinking talkies still a novelty that
might fade. (A remake of the 1920 silent film.)
