A look at modern Hollywood centering on a young director's desperate need to follow up his debut smash with another success. Some self-righteous jabs at hip, money-hungry producers hit the comedy target, as do the cameos by Moreau and Fellini, but the presence of the latter reminds us it's all been done before, and far better than here. Ellen Burstyn, as Sutherland's wife, contributes her usual expert performance. leave a comment
