Disillusioned painter Mason chucks the superficial glamour of New York and returns to an island on the Great Barrier Reef, where a weird assortment of characters come into his life--rich spinster Katsaros, drunken harridan Carr-Glyn, and her sexpot granddaughter, Mirren.
