Cassavetes seduces Shane, the wife of crippled plantation owner Burr, and is about to run off with her when Burr tells his greedy spouse that he has a few months to live and that when he dies, $20 million will be hers. Cassavetes gets the heave-ho, and the wife settles back in the nest to await her fortune. Tiring of the wait, she pushes the wheelchair-bound Burr into his swimming pool and inherits the fortune ahead of schedule.
