Adventures Of Casanova

Routine action programmer offers a rather hammy De Cordova playing a Robin Hood role in 1793 Sicily, battling the oppressive Austrian occupiers and wooing a host of love-starved ladies; he is sometimes exceptional in the partisan attacks and wields a mean blade in well-choreographed swordfights. John Sutton is at his oily best as an insidious envoy of the Austrian monarch, and Bremer is a convincing female lead. Highlight of the film is a 10-minute swordfight between De Cordova and Sutton, with the latter ultimately pierced through the middle.
