The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen: Review

Terry Gilliam's follow-up to his masterpiece Brazil struck many as a disappointment. The story — an adaptation of the tall tales associated with an 18th century German nobleman — is highly episodic and only intermittently entertaining, but the wildly inventive sets and set pieces are joys to behold. John Neville stars as the Baron, a very young Sarah Polley is his pint-sized sidekick and Uma Thurman is a Botticelli beauty on the half-shell.
