The Adolescent: Review

A 12-year-old girl, Chauveau, leaves her Paris home and estranged parents just before the outbreak of WW II to spend a summer holiday in a remote village with her grandmother, Signoret, who plays a subtle soothsayer. The girl develops a crush on a young Jewish doctor and begins to recognize mature feelings in herself, before returning to Paris to see her parents reunited. A somewhat doting film, directed by actress Jeanne Moreau, who presents more pastoral scenes than story. leave a comment
