Action Jackson

Carl Weathers stars as the title character, an iconoclastic Detroit cop. When a bizarre group of night-time marauders dubbed "The Invisible Men" brutally murder several union officials, Jackson is assigned to the case. He uncovers a complex plot involving a wealthy and powerful contractor (Craig T. Nelson), gets involved with Nelson's sexy mistress (Vanity), and, of course, runs afoul of his superiors in the process of solving the case. First-class stunts, fine photography, and solid acting by Weathers and Vanity combine to lift this action film above its ludicrous story.
