Act One

Moss Hart, author of plays such as "The Man Who Came to Dinner" and "You Can't Take It With You," is the subject of this film biography. George Hamilton stars as the writer, and the film follows him from his days as a struggling dramatist through his rise to become a popular and successful writer of theatrical comedies. Along the way, he must overcome the standard obstacles usually included in these biopics. Hamilton is somewhat lifeless in the lead and only when Jason Robards appears as Hart's famed collaborator, George Kaufman, does the film really take off.
