A florid pioneer epic, this film offers Gable as a tough, calculating trapper who marries Marques (an accomplished Mexican film star) because she is the daughter of a powerful Blackfoot chief, Holt. (Gable thinks the hostile tribe will allow him into their territory to trap beaver for their
