Beautifully photographed in Almeria, Spain, this spaghetti western apes Sergio Leone's profitable productions, its director Giuseppe Colizzi undecided whether to take his role model seriously or satirize the campy genre. Wallach plays a sinister fool who kills a bank robber and inadvertently collects a reward desired by bounty hunters Hill, doing a poor imitation of Clint Eastwood, and his hulking sidekick, Spencer. The terrible twosome then begin chasing Wallach who, in turn, is chasing three men who have sent him to prison for 15 years for, naturally, reward money. Wallach is saved from a hanging by his pursuers Hill and Spencer only to vanish once more, seen again as he undoes his third victim, McCarthy, a gambler. A monstrous shoot-out then ensues between his pursuers and a host of hard cases. leave a comment
