Belmondo is a WW I ace shown in a docu-style prolog shooting down several German planes before appearing in 1936 Berlin where he is managing the French boxing team at the Olympiad. He becomes involved with some Jewish refugees and attempts to smuggle them out of the country but somehow leads
the group right into Hitler's Bavarian mountain retreat where the Jews conceal themselves as band members fiddling for Hitler's party guests, a tasteless, utterly unfunny segment. The thoughtless script is not overcome by sharp photography and shrewd direction.
