Zany slapstick, often mindless, is the thrust of this army comedy where two soldiers, Bendix and O'Keefe, clown together and compete over the attentions of curvaceous Helen Walker while stationed in Australia. So-so gags and predictable situations are elevated when O'Keefe steals Walker from
the poetry-spewing Bendix by pretending he's schizophrenic and could become dangerous if she doesn't comply with his every wish. A chase sequence develops between O'Keefe and Bendix, both having escaped the guard-house dressed as females, which proceeds disruptively through a charity ball. All in
all, a low-brow redoing of the legendary Quirt and Flagg saga.
