Low-budget Bud & Lou effort with many bits taken from LOST IN A HAREM. The boys are wrestling promoters who find themselves in Algeria looking for one of their missing wrestlers and get involved in an espionage web woven by Medina, a sexy French undercover agent. They are then boondoggled into joining the Foreign Legion by slippery Slezak, a sadistic French army sergeant who caricatures Sgt. Markov of BEAU GESTE. The pair bumbles into exposing Slezak's traitorous collusions with evil sheik Dumbrille but offers little new humor other than a manic jeep drive through the sheik's camp. Uplifting is Lou's momentary wandering in the desert where he envisions absurd mirages, one being a NYC newsboy hawking papers. When Lou asks why he is in the middle of nowhere, the boy replies: "Can I help it if they gave me a bad corner?" For enthusiasts and little ones. leave a comment
