A dull, uninspired musical, the plot has bashful Young courting Shore, his farm neighbor. The romance is uprooted when city folks Merrill and Jergens buy out Shore's farm for $20,000, believing it to contain oil deposits. Shore departs for the bright lights, which prompts Young to pursue her, wooing her back to the farm while outwitting the slickers. A few humorous scenes bring alive the ancient (1919) play, particularly a purse-stealing one involving Borg. Metropolitan Opera star Merrill is wasted in this lame songfest which offers such tunes as "I'd Like to Baby You," "Still Water," "Marshmallow Moon," and "Why Should I Believe in Love?" leave a comment
