Driscoll is a likable widow who is struggling to raise her son on her meager savings. When she stumbles across some stolen money, she hides it away for her son's education. The crooks come after their booty but are fought off by her friend Ayres. Driscoll turns the money over to the police
but still fares okay at the finale.
