The last of director Dewhurst's five film chestnuts of the same low stage comedy. The first two were silents, 1922 and 1927, then three talkies, 1930, 1938, and 1948, with Dewhurst writing and at least codirecting all of them. In addition, he used a virtual stock company on the pictures, with Pollie Emery playing the same part in four of them, and Mary Brough, Muriel Aked, Muriel George, and Charles Paton all making multiple appearances.
