The third Poitier-Cosby UPTOWN SATURDAY NIGHT team-up casts the duo as two well-off crooks who suddenly find themselves blackmailed into community service by retired cop Jones. Jones persuades the pair to help him out with some unruly street kids who have been sentenced to do their time
in a community center instead of reform school. While the film does get pretty preachy at times, Cosby and Poitier are able to carry enough humor into the situation to make the socially redeeming sequences tolerable.
