A Perfect Couple

Though it isn't completely successful, this is an entertaining film, far more successful than the Altman projects which immediately preceded it, A WEDDING and QUINTET. Dooley is a lonely middle-aged man who is completely dominated by autocratic Greek father, Vadnis. Through a computer dating service, Dooley meets Heflin and is attracted to her. She's a rather insecure woman who plays in a rock band led by Neeley (who starred in JESUS CHRIST, SUPERSTAR). Neeley rules his extended family of musicians, singers, and hangers-on every bit as autocratically as Vadnis controls his more traditional family.
